The Making Of Jailhouse Rock

Follow That Dream (FTD) udgiver i december 2021 endnu en kæmpe boks, i samme format som FTD’s ‘That’s The Way it Is’ boks (eller som størrelsen på en LP plade) omkring tilblivelsen af Elvis’ tredje film “Jailhouse Rock” fra 1957.

Igen er det David English og Pål Granlund der står bag et brag af en udgivelse, som er den ultimative samling informationer, sjældne billeder og ikke mindst alle outtakes fra soundtrack indspilningerne fra filmen der eksisterer i dag.

Man har samlet alverdens spændende informationer om både selve filmen og soundtrack indspilningerne, fordelt over to bøger:

The Making of Jailhouse Rock The Movie (365 sider)
The Making of Jailhouse Rock The Music (85 sider)

Ud over bøgerne indeholder boksen også 3 CD’er med komplette outtakes fra alle de originale binaural 2-Spors bånd mixed ned til nye mono mixes. Alle outtakes har ganske vist været udgivet tidligere på FTD, men nu får vi dem for første gang i rækkefølgen de blev indspillet.
For første gang nogensinde udgives dog alle 16 takes af instrumentalinspilningen af “(You’re So Square) Baby I Don’t Care” med Elvis på bas. (Han lagde sin vokal på senere).

Som kronen på værket, følger der også en singleplade med, som er en reproduktion af Vince Everett singlen, som vi kender fra filmen med “Treat Me Nice”. B-siden indeholder “Don’t Leave Me Now”.

Bundet sammen med tekst af Mike Eder indeholder disse bøger mange hundrede fantastiske, tidligere upublicerede fotografier, fra Lorentzen og Granlunds private samlinger.
